Aluminium for floor etc

How many 2500x1250 sheets will I need to clad all my tiger Avon inc floor?
And what is the preferred thickness?

Interesting question and I'm not sure of the answer.

I bought a pre-cut ally floor pan from MK when I built my Indy.

From memory it was 1.5mm thick, but I could be wrong on that.

One thing I found was in rain the car filled up with water until I punched some drain holes into the floor.

16g. (1.6mm) NS4 would do the job in old money, so yes, that sounds about right.

2 sheets for a typical striker, but they have fully alloy sides which some kits dont.

Tiger Avon is just floor, seat back and a few bits on the sides but not fully, I'm hoping just 1 sheet is enough

I don't think (off the top of my head) one would be enough. You need ....

Back of seats panel
Floor both sides from back of seats to end of footwell
Ends of footwell x2
Tunnel sides from back of seats to end of footwell
Tunnel Top ?
Infill pieces on both sides by your shoulder coming down diagonally to the floor.
Battery Tray

Cheers,
Ian

Thinking further, I paneled my MK Indy (rear bulkhead, tunnel top/sides and footwells) from one sheet of 1.2mm thick ally. I made paper templates to get the shapes right and pop riveted the panels to the chassis. I got the sheet from a local fabricator who also had a guilotene (sp?) to cut to shape. The one thing I wish I'd done was panel the inside of the outer chassis to make my right knee more comfortable.

What about asking Tiger for the precut alloy?
