Fury diff fitting issue
Hi All
Fitting the diff for the final time in my Fury and went to fit the front 2 bolts and there is an issue with my chassis, first the bolt holes
don't line up, so i have opened these up, the second is the brackets on the chassis are not square to the diff. I would have thought that
these would be lined up on the jig.

What are my options, the best option is to cut them off and reweld them on straight, but this is the last resort as I am not the best welder (ie
rubbish), and I don't want to take any of my lovely powercoating off.

I don't know about the fury, but it's usual to have 'soft' mounts for the diff, which could take most misalignment away

I didn't know the Sierra diff mounted there (but thats because I have a Freelander unit).

Better picture might help but why does that look like a seat belt mount?

Not seen a naked fury chassis up close but I'm assuming that's not right?

You wouldn't normally mount the Diff on the harness holes, if that is what it is. Again, speak to Fury Sportscars before chopping/welding
anything. There are hundreds of these chassis been made and I'd bet they have an idea what to do for a Sierra Diff.

That doesn't look like the diff mounting point. For a start the diff would hand below the chassis

Thanks for the replies
Here is a better picture (Rob Collingridge's car taken from Google)
 
As you can see it bolts through this bracket into the lower diff mounting points.

Top is diff bolt and bottom belt bolt with turned down top hat spacer

Thanks to everyone that replied
Spoke to Steve at Fury Sports cars and he said to make up some wedge shaped spacers to take up the angle, which is what I thought of but did not think
was ideal. He said the brackets aren't jigged so it is common and that is what they do.
So that is what I have done!

Not ideal but not the end of the world either. I'd rather make spacers than cut out and re-weld.
