It's a shame you have had to name and shame them but you're right, they're still advertising on their website this morning:

http://www.mksportscars.com/experience-c30/mk-indy-rr-trackday-experience-p200

I feel sorry for any perspective customers who may have purchased (or still purchase before it's removed) one of these "experience days" as they will be in for a shock if they turn up and MK aren't there!

And to be trying to profit from a charity day of all things!

Unless of course the £100 fee is to cover the fuel used for 45 minutes driving and the lunch provided?

You can't write that above that photo and expect to be taken seriously

I wouldn't have minded them doing it, if they had come and asked me in the proper manner.
That way I could have checked everything was OK with Blyton, and that they were covered by the circuit's liability insurance (which luckily they were).

All that Danny Keenan told me was "I want to bring a car for testing, and a couple of customers want to try it out."

That's far from "I want to run an experience day, and I'm going to have 7+ drivers, all paying £100 each."

If I'd been asked, I would have been fine with it, and would have probably asked for a little extra to the charity for doing it.
But now, they haven't got a chance of coming.

Also, they never properly booked the days, in March he called last minute on the off chance, in fact he had a cancellation place, and paid me on the day.
Then he said at the end of the day "stick my name down for September, I'll pay you on the day, and walked away."

Its just unbelievable, what utter scumbags. I assumed it was some chancer trying to make money on the side not one of the more well known 'Kit Car' companies like MK. Says everything you need to know about them really.

As we say 'up north', some people have a brass neck, that's really taking the pee.

This is my post on Facebook...

quote:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
PLEASE READ!!!

I've not taken making this decision, and writing this post lightly, but I don't know what other action to take.

MK SPORTSCARS DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO RUN "EXPERIENCE DAYS" AT MY CHARITY TRACK DAYS.

I have tried on numerous times to contact them, and ask them to remove my 16th September date from there "experience day" website page, and I have had no response or action.

DO NOT BOOK THIS WITH MK SPORTSCARS, AS THEY ARE NOT WELCOME AT MY DAYS ANY MORE.

They are charging people £100 each to experience having a drive of 1 of their cars. (they claim to have reduced the price from £180!!)
They have never asked my permission to do this.

My days are 100% for charity, and I do not earn a single penny from these days, all I get out of it is that I don't pay for my own car to be there.

They had 7 extra drivers in their car at my last day, at £100 each.

I only charge that for a car including extra drivers and passengers and photos are included too!!!

They are ripping people off and lining their own pocket while doing it.

Please be very careful booking an "experience day" with MK Sportscars.

Thank you for reading, and I apologise for the rant, but they have driven me to this.

Please share this, as I don't want anyone to be conned by them.

Cheers Frank.

Why don't you compose an e-mail for Richard (I think that that's who I mean) to send to MK from Blyton which says something along the lines of

"during the safety briefing at the start of Franks charity track days, I will say that anyone selling sub-letting spaces in their car or anyone buying sub-let spaces in a car will not be issued with a wrist band and therefore not be allowed onto the track..."

They will then be left in no doubt as to the consequences of their actions and I'm sure that any locostbuilders members who are there on the day will provide any support necessary to police it.

I know that its not strictly any of Richards business, but he seems like a decent chap.
