Kit car friendly garage Nottingham

Hello all,

I just wanted to recommend a garage in Nottingham that has a keen interest in Kit Cars.

David Drew garages in West Bridgford have been around for years and we've been taking the tin tops there for a while now.

They also seem to do a wide range of none standard stuff. the last few times ive been there they had an Alvis on the ramps, an NSX waiting to go in and an E-type waiting to go out.

There are lots of garages where you get the feeling they dont want to do anything unusual but these guys certainly do. They also race a radical SR3 and as a result gave the locost a very thorough going over and came back with a list of suggestions for improvements over the coming years.

Just thought i'd mention it.

Worth knowing as I'm only in Derby.

Thanks Paul.

I have a garage and tyre shop in Heanor I take mine too. The owner has a bike powered MK Indy, so tends to be very helpful when it comes to kits!

All these petrol heads just around the corner and I didn't even know!!
I live in Ripley and my lifelong best friend, who is also a multiple kitcar builder owns an MOT garage in Langley-mill (right near the Asda round about) so is very understanding and helpful when it comes to kits.

Beat Tread Tyres and Autocentre

The owner is called Tony. By all means mention that Tim sent you! He has recently added full laser alignment equipment to his service capabilities and they will be setting my car's geometry up for me.

Indeed so, I'm only just up the road in Giltbrook/Eastwood.

We should get together for some run outs over the summer. Also, there are some local events that perhaps we could get to as a group.

E.g. MFN does car nights and classic car nights a couple of times a month, but unfortunately they have been rained off so far this year as its mostly grass parking.

Also, I discovered last year that there is a big car show on in Ilkeston every August. I came across it by chance last year and the market square and surrounding area was full of all sorts of vehicles including a few 7's (even though the booking form says pre-1990's vehicles only). Its the 14th August this year.

Not sure If I can make it over the bridge on the way in.... (MFN) what's it like these days?
There is also the Car Cafè once a month at the Evans halshaw call centre (dekota) and Griffens head be papplewick.
Will look out for the one in Ilkeston. And yes would be good to go for a drive!
