Thunderace v R1

Anyone fitted a thunderace engine? I've been looking at the R1 5jj and noticed that the thunderace seem's to be better priced, how much of a difference is there and can it be run with a wet sump and baffle plate? Thanks in advance,

How much cheaper?

The Thunderace is only a 5 speed, have you looked into the gearing etc?

I've noticed that they are only a 5 speed, seems to be plenty full bikes about for 1500 quid mark, the engine seems to be a genesis which is what the r1 is based on, just curious if anyone's used one.

I've never seen anyone use one,as the R1 engine is very cheap anyway compared to other engines that are commonly used in BEC's.

I saw a guy at an autocross meeting running twin thunderaces in a buggy thing, he told me he had blown 4 gearboxes with racing, two on the dyno which I wouldn't have thought possible.

Anyway off he goes for his race and blows a gearbox while I'm watching, I wouldn't entertain a Thunderace
