I have an old style fuse box in the garage which I want to replace the fuses (by domino style I mean the big bulky things with spots on to identify
lighting/power etc with white red or blue spots) with circuit breakers, so I can isolate a circuit without having to pull a fuse. They are a blade
type fitting which slide in & out of the front of the panel
What is the correct name/type for what I need to fit, there seem to be loads of different types - MCB, Wylex, Mini, Type B etc etc, I don't want
to buy something that won't fit!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

So are the important words Wylex & MCB for standard consumer units? I assume the type B curve is referring to the way the circuit breaker will
define when it should break the current?

Sorry can't help you any further. I remember looking into this several years ago and this was the type I needed to replace the fuse wire type
in my consumer unit. If you go to B&Q they have these and others with information on the package which may help.

If you go into an electrical wholesalers and ask for plug-in mcbs to replace rewireable fuses, you'll get the right thing. B-type does indeed
relate to how it trips.
It would be a better installation though if you had an rcd somewhere.
