Locost with a Yamaha fazer 1000 bike engine

Here for sale is my locost kit car powered by a Yamaha fazer 1000 bike engine.

For those of you that don't know the fazer 1000 is a slightly detuned r1, an early r1 engine is 150bhp and this fazer 1000 is 141bhp so if your looking specifically for an r1 for 9 bhp less look no further.

The build was started on December 7th 2008 and finally registered on the 23rd June 2011
The fazer 1000 is on carbs, very reliable engine which pulls very well right up to 10,500 rpm

Back axle is a mk2 escort with a disc brake conversion.
Front brakes are brembo four pot calipers with titanium ventilated pistons.

Suspension is gaz fully adjustable coilovers, height and dampening adjustable.

The standard bike gearbox is retained, giving a sequential pattern of 1 forward and 5 back (6 speed gearbox)
The car also has reverse which has been produced by welding and machining a boss on the front of the driveshaft and bolting a light machined aluminium disc to it then riveting a bmw ring gear to that.
This is then powered by an astra diesel starter motor which gives you plenty of reverse power.

There is a small locking boot at the back, not huge but enough for a few bits and pieces, wasn't bought for shopping so has never been a problem for me.
The car was built by the previous owner who has been an engineer for the last 40 years.

The car is mot'd until the 16th may 2017.

I have made a few changes since buying the car to make it my own, It has just had carbon effect headlights and front indicators fitted, front grill painted black as it was chrome. New carbon effect mirrors, Aero screen not fitted but will come with the car I obviously always wear a helmet so doesn't bother me its all part of the feel of the car!

Just had new wheels put on which in my opinion just finishes it off.

Goes very well as you can imagine, it has a 4 into 1 manifold which is the best for power output, the engine is standard with the carbs have just been balanced so is all healthy and ready for summer.

Mileage is 6,800

£6,950 Ono based in seaford East Sussex
