Single seater project...

Good evening All.

Yes the building itch is back, following my Ron Champion build many moons ago

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/photos.php?user=Iwan&action=gal

A few VW GTI restorations and van conversions under my belt but I now fancy a bike powered single seater not for the public roads just hill climbs and track days.
I have trawled the net but as you well know the options is endless. Been looking at something similar to Formula SAE as the boffins build as a part of their engineering degree. Bike powered say Suzuki GSXR 750 sitting on a double whishbone chassis.

Does anybody have a credible set of drawings or do I shoot from the hip here and try and work around Chris Gibbs Haynes Roadster manual? Did dig up Ron’s book but its somewhat out of date now, good fun though….

Help needed thanks

Iwan Roberts

Do a search on T89 designs - a neat little single seater that comes with comprehensive plans.

it looks a well thought out design - there's a thread covering the development/first build plus I think there's a build thread from someone doing their own build from the plans too. Definitely on my list of 'one day' projects...

Doesn't help with the chassis, but might be some assistance with bodywork, depending on what size/shape you are aiming at?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

The terrapin is a known quantity, drawings and book still available, it's been modded to take bike engines.
