New Loom - Do I need an ECU specific loom for Alpha Webber??

Hi guys,

hoping you may be able to help me out with a question as electrics are yet to be conquered.

I have a zetec which will soon be replacing the crossflow in my Phoenix, when the engine is out I plan to remove the messy old escort loom and install a new one. The zetec is running twin 45's which are managed by the Alpha Webber system, my question is whether I will need a basic loom like the one below:

Or the same loom with ECU connectors to run alpha webber:

Thanks!

Weber alphas come with a pretty comprehensive loom, so with a £50 saving, I would go with first option and add in any extra wires that may be needed.

Thanks for the reply loggyboy, you're right about the alpha webber loom, it looks quite complete. So I will just need to feed it a power supply, do you know if this will be via a standard connector that should already be on the basic loom?

In the (distant) future I'd like to push for more power and maybe go injection, with this in mind it might be best just to go for the ECU loom. Unless most ECU units come with their own loom, much like the webber system?

I suspect power for ecu would need to come direct from accessory switch, so via the fuse box. Which should be simple enough to bridge on to.
I wouldnt expect any connectors on the loom unless you supply them and pay the extra £50, the loom will likely come with bear wires. It wont be plug and play unless you pay more or buy the looms that are intended for specific donor switch gear (sierra etc), even then you will need to do a fair amount of 'connections' yourself.
