Renault Kangoo

Has anyone changed the electric power steering pump on the Kangoo if so is it just a straight swap with no coding to the van?

Assuming it is a mk1 kangoo, the pump unit contains just a motor, pump and reservoir, and should be a straight swap.
The relay for the pump is controlled by the engine management, it's worth checking the relay is operating when the engine is running.
If it is blowing the pump fuse, the brush holder inside the motor casing gets brittle, breaks up and allows the brushes to touch each other, it is possible to open the casing and repair the holder.

Thanks for that I guess the brush section is falling apart due to the fact my son run the van up the rear of someone how had stopped in lane 2 on Edinburgh bypass. Power steering pump is lying at a not very natural angle.
