R1 Carbs - TPS Query
G'day Everyone, especially those who have fitted R1 carbs.
This question concerns the Mikuni TPS potentiometer, on the end of the throttle shaft. Because I needed to ID which of the 3 wires did what, I carried
out the usual multimeter resistance check. For the case where the initial resistance is low, moving the throttle shaft should give an increase in
resistance. However, I get very 'variable' and possibly erratic values, which seem to disappear when the shaft stops rotating.
Is this normal? Should I start looking for another TPS? I would like to be sure that everything works as it should, before I commit to assembly work.
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

Usually two pins are earth and live (12v/5v) and the other is the wiper, so based on info below for '98 R1 test connecting pin 1/3, move the
pot and see if the resistance goes up or down, check 2/3 this should go the opposite way with fully open and close being the same but opposite.
That said it should be a smooth change whichever way you use it.

Page 260 - Standard resistance looks like it should be between 0 and 5K Ohm
