Exhaust quotation

Hi all,
I am looking to replace a section of the exhaust on my F27. It is the section between the manifold and silencer.
The current setup comprises of some very messy connectors and it blows a lot!
I have included a picture below of what it looks like now.
My plan is to replace the exhaust section from just before the lambda boss to the start of the silencer box with a new piece of pipe and have once connection in this pipe using a v-band connecter.
My question is, firstly what are your opinions on my plan and secondly, how much do you think this would cost? I have already been to a local exhaust specialist and been quoted £150.

IMO £150 is expensive.

Hoping that included the pipe/V-band kit?

To someone doing exhausts all the time I would say that's a hours work to sort.

It does include materials, however I did think it was a tad on the expensive side.
Like you say, perhaps an hours work, no more than £40-50 in materials so £100 for labour seems steep!

Your plan seems sound.

As for £150, I dont think its far off the mark:

Remove manifold and existing system,

Cut the duff section out

Rough up the replacement section

Refit manifold and system,

Make fine adjustments.

Tack up.

Remove and seam weld.

Clean up and refit with new gaskets etc.

Putting it like that... perhaps £150 isn't too bad then

From looking at the pic I don't think manifold would need to come off.

And I bet if you ask the exhaust place they haven't quoted to remove it
