Massey Ferguson 165 tractor engine

Hi everyone, I have a massey 165 with a perkins a4d.203 engine with a cracked block. I have sourced an a4.203 rebuilt engine the latter be non direct injection. I'm planning on swapping pistons and the head. Problem is that the a4 has 17 head studs and the ad4 has 21, there is a space for them to be drilled, anyone dealt with this? I'm planning on using a mag drill for additional holes..... Also, I'm assuming that everything else regarding block and bore measurements is the same, I need to order new pistons and rings and don't know what serial number to give!

Thanks in advance!!

Dilley

Can't really help with your engine issue, but here's my Dads petrol engined Fergie resto project out in France.
That's got a cracked block too but hopefully K-seal has sorted it

Yeah, his is just for a hobby so worth a try as I reckon he'd struggle to find a block over there!! Or here TBH.

Try Cox and Turner engineering, they are great and know their tractors well!

Harley Davidson make a range of suitable 'modern' units that could be retro-fitted?
