ST170 starting problems

Hello

I'm having trouble with starting my car, which I've had for 7 years but, now won't start

The engine turns over, and after 10 secs of cranking, starts to run for about 5 seconds then cuts out.

It's on Jenvey's with OMEX 600

Here's what is working:

Compression - good pressure on compression test and nothing on the leakage test
Spark plugs spark, tested with inline light tester, and by taking the plug out to see the spark
Injectors are opening, verified by fuel in cylinder and by looking down all 4 Jenveys to see good cone shaped spray

That's all they need right? Compression, fuel and spark

Additional diagnostic steps taken:

Fuel pressure is strong and remains constant when cranking and running (when it runs for a few seconds)
Timing, today belt removed and set back up using timing kit
Crank sensor replaced, just to see if that helps - it didn't
Coil pack replaced, just to see if that helps - it didn't
Omex connected to computer and stays live, doesn't switch off
Water and air temperature sensors are accurate
Battery voltage constant, thanks to external power / jump starter

Additional info - it's never had a camshaft sensor and it's had the VVT removed from the inlet camshaft

Does it run for 5seconds on tickover or are you trying to rev it

just trying to run on tickover. It normally fires on first turn and runs on tickover cold, at 1,000 rpm

As soon as a try to rev it, it dies. Tried 5% throttle, won't even start if any throttle open

Have you checked TPS settings
On mine I have to keep it at about 1500 rpm when I start it cos it just cuts out on tickover

I can't even get it up to 1,500 rpm - just dies if any throttle is applied

Before I had these problems, it would sit at 700RPM all day

If ticking over and dying when throttle applied then I would say the problem sounds like tps. Remember it is this that controls ignition spark timing fuel etc. Through your ecu. I have no experience with yours but my throttle positions are 20 closed and 87 fully open. Mines is emerald. Yours sounds to perfect to me.

Hi

the TPS raw values are 18 to 229, which is calibrated as 0 to 100

Is there any way in OMEX 600 to get a tooth control table, to validate the number of teeth between the missing teeth?

I'm only getting 3 timing errors in 10 full revolutions in the engine (at 200rpm / starter motor speed)

Could anyone share their ST170 OMEX 600 config please?

Is there anyone in the Retford, Notts area who could help? Happy to pay to get it fixed
