Sylva Pheonix for sale 1700 Crossflow SCCR gearbox

Sylva Pheonix for sale, I'm not good with pictures on here (apologies), but there are plenty on the pistonheads advert:
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/kit-cars/sylva/sylva-pheonix-1700cc-wth-straight-cut-gearbox/8403954

High spec, very fast and capable car, full details below:
Sylva Pheonix/ Striker mk4 road and track car - this is a great car on the road and the track, being lightweight and nimble whilst having plenty of power and low weight to see off most things in a straight line. As with all Sylvas, the handling and road holding is excellent. Powered by a 1700cc full race specification Ford Crossflow engine, dyno run shows 167bhp, giving 310bhp/tonne and a fantastic soundtrack. There is a healthy stack of receipts that show the history of the car and what parts have been used on it. Looking for £5950

First registered for the road in 1998, the car was built before this and raced for several years before being road registered. The car has held the lap record for it’s class at Oulton Park for several years, which is testament to it’s ability around a track in the right hands.

Suspension: independent wishbones up front with Spax dampers and a live back axle with 5 links on the back for predictable handling and low weight. Brakes are Girling 4 pot calipers with vented disks up front, single pot calipers and plain disks on the rear. The front brakes have been overhauled with new seals, bleed screws, unions and brake fluid. Twin brake master cylinders with balance bar plus a variable restrictor for the rear, the pedal positions are nicely placed for easy heel and toeing. Lightweight Compomotive CXR alloy wheels, finished in Anthracite – wheels are spotless having been freshly powder coated only last year. Tyres are super sticky Yokohama A048R’s, 185/60/R13 fitted all round, with a pair of 205/60/R13’s for the rear on some spare wheels if a slightly higher top speed is desired.

In the cockpit there is a new OMP suede steering wheel, FIA spec TRS 6 point harnesses with 3” shoulder straps and lightweight and easy to adjust aluminium shoulder adjusters in excellent condition (replaced in 2013). The seats are black fibreglass race seats that offer good support whilst being comfortable due to the foam pads. The dash contains a Rev counter, Tacho, fuel level and engine water temperature gauges, master cut off switch, warning lights for oil pressure, indicator and main beam, lap timer display (Rollcentre lap timer), switches for the lights, fog light and fan. The indicator stalk also does main beam and the horn. There is a Racetech oil pressure and oil temperature gauge fitted, but I haven’t got around to plumbing the sensors in (the sensors are supplied). I also have a matching Racetech water temperature gauge but haven’t got around to swapping the gauges over. There is a plumbed in fire extinguisher with nozzles in the engine bay and cockpit, pull cord handle is mounted on the transmission tunnel. There is an aeroscreen fitted to deflect the air over your head, and a fitted tonneau cover is supplied, which can be used to cover just the passenger compartment if desired as it has a zip down the middle.

Engine specification:
1700cc, 711M block, Cosworth pistons, Steel crank and con rods, Kent A8 cam, Big valve head, Roller rockers, Vernier gear and duplex timing chain, high pressure oil pump, Twin Webber 45’s, Tony Law 4 branch exhaust manifold, Electronic ignition, Adjustable soft cut rev limiter, Lightened flywheel, race clutch. The rocker cover is anthracite powder coated.

The gearbox is a 4 speed close ratio unit with straight cut 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, 4th is helical cut (and so is quiet for cruising). Quick shift gear lever and lightweight aluminium alloy bell housing. Fuel tank is an aluminium baffled race tank with swirl pot in the bottom to prevent fuel surge.

The bodywork is lightweight woven glass fibre – the body is solid but has had some repairs in the past, so don’t expect perfection in this area. The rear fuel tank hatch is solid carbon fibre with quick release clips for easy access.

Also for sale with the car is a lightweight single axle (braked) trailer, perfect size for the Pheonix and has a winch £650.

Spare parts supplied with the car:
Two wheels (Ford 4 spoke), powdercoated in Anthracite with 205/60 A048R tyres
Front vented disks
Brake pads
Engine mounts
Fan belt
Various gaskets
Wheel spacers
Silencer
LED rear lights and reflectors (didn’t get round to fitting them)
Original yellow fuel tank hatch

Happy to take interested parties out for a ride, but no test drives without insurance and a deposit please.
