Zetec Silvertop v Blacktop inlet manifolds

My 2.1 Zetec Silvertop has twin 45's.

For one reason or another I'm thinking of changing it back to OEM manifold with injectors making it more tuneable.

The carbs only have 3 instead of the 5 progression holes best suited to Zetecs.

Am I correct saying the standard 2.0 silvertop inlet manifold intake is rear facing and the blacktop is forward facing, as I dont have much room with the STD.

If correct, would the blacktop inlet fit or are there modifications to be done for it to fit.

thanks

Silver top mondeo inlet mani's are plastic like the blacktop mondeo / focus but had an alloy throttle body and side feed injectors where the blacktop has end feed injectors and a plastic throttle body.

Silvertop Escort / Orion had an alloy manifold. Two different castings, So and the more prized Ho that had bigger ports found on the 130ps spec models.

You can see the plastic one on my vid, it requires an extra uj in the steering down Linc on most 7's.

The alloy mani will stick through the bonnet in any 7.

The manifold are interchangeable and are a bolt off bolt on swap.

Thanks.
Any idea which is the lowest of under the bonnet and not having a rear facing intake.

There are only two oem styles. The plastic one as per vid and the old alloy up and over.

Gbs/ kitspares make a very compact forward facing single tb plenum.

Most opt for bike carbs or throttle bodies or the off the shelf tb's like jenvey.

I could never get the 5 hole 152g's to work on a zetec either let alone the threes.

That's an interesting comment. Does it mean you went to fuel injection + t/b's?
