How to install Passenger Footrest?

So I bought this:

Just wondering how people fit them?

Bolt it?
Rivet it?
Sikaflex?

Just don't like the idea of drilling holes in the floor etc haha

Are the front and rear lips parallel to the floor?

If they are I'd rivet it in place myself.


If the edges aren't parallel with the floor can you bend them parallel - soft jaws in a bench vice maybe?

Rivets are OK.
If you can get and install solid ones, they protrude a little bit less than pop....
Therefore, less chance of beheading them against sleeping policemen.

I thought the elise used velcro for the footrest mounting,

so I checked again, and indeed they do.

Suppose I could try velcro as it isn't permanent and go from there. Can't be too bad if lotus do it!
