Croft videos

Here's a vid from the Javelin day at Croft yesterday. Chasing after a red MNR (Jim87) until the camera died in mid chase!

Very nice, lovely sound quality. Are you using a remote mic to pick up exhaust rather than wind noise?

Michael.

Its an external mic. I had a play around to see where the best place for it was, and its ended up under the bonnet on the bulkhead, on the exhaust side of the engine bay.

Ah... that explains it, thanks for the tip. As and when I get round to investing in an action cam I'll follow suit. Unfortunately as tomorrow is SORN day it won't be for a while yet.

Michael.

It was a good day, a little bit damp in patches at first but I really enjoyed it.
I think my little engine fire was due to a dodgy PCV valve letting boost enter the engine, which caused oil to blow out if the dip stick and onto the turbo.

You were lucky the fire got extinguished relatively quickly. Could have been much worse.

Another vid from me:
This one ended prematurely when I noticed coolant sloshing around the passenger footwell. Suspect head gasket has gone.. pressurising the coolant system.
All things considered though.. was a pretty good day.

Just watched it. Excellent. Your camera didn't expire like mine. Twas a good session.

We'll have to get our act together for future days.. not too soon though as I've got a head gasket to fix.

My head gasket is fixed and I'm booked into Croft again, March 9th with Javelin.

Anyone else fancy it?

Andy, there’s a few of us at Teesside on Monday 2nd March if your up for it?
My car is fixed now, it was a cracked ring land which scored the bore that badly it caused back pressure and then the oil to come out if the dip stick. Had to source a new block and rebuild the engine.
