Anyone know what ratio sierra diff 'U' denotes? I can't for the life of me find the code list now (I think it's on the end of
a broken link I found on one of my many many searches.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for that but sadly not, I found my written list when I got home and it's a 3.62. A 3.38 is a 'V'.
Cheers anyway,

Ratio Code
3.14 M
3.36 A
3.38 U
3.62 V
3.64 3
3.92 D
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

This is where I got mine from...

...which suggests you have the U and V the wrong way around. Where did you get your info from?

My local ford dealer, he or I may have transposed a letter, or god forbid, the sierra boys slipped up?

Lol. It's difficult enough to
work out what car has what diff without more confusion

why not turn the diff over with one of the outputs static, and see how many input turns per output turn?

Because it's on ebay, in a
car.

That's what I figured too.
It's in a 2.0 litre GT twin cam.

Some people are really helpful and will get the code when asked. One car I was going to bid on had an M code in the AXLE box (tow pack i'm
guessing as it was a 2l auto with tow bar) but he withdrew the auction... maybe he did some research and figured out what it was worth.
