Zetec silvertop water pump

Just about to put a new cam belt on my silvertop zetec and for the price difference will do the water pump too.

Can anyone confirm if the standard silvertop water pump is the correct one (rotation wise)? Im only running a alternator off the crank, along with the water pump. I am assuming it is a standard pump on the engine at present....just wanted to check

As long as you're just putting it all back as it is, then if it is running OK now then it should run OK afterwards. You'd only need to change it if the previous one was non standard or altered.

I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, but it was just someone with a torch bringing me more stuff to do

If your running a simple triangle set up with the ribbed pulley on the water pump you want the escort / orion pump.

The Mondeo pump would be running backwards in this situation.

I run the standard mondeo water pump on my zetec. My belt only runs around crank pulley and alternator pulley. The back of the belt is tensioned against the water pump to run in the correct direction. Its been fine like this for 15 years.
