Ebay Borescope to ipad APP

Just wandered if anyone has had any luck connecting one of the ebay borescopes to an ipad

The one I have connects great to a Windows laptop using AMCap, but I can't get AMCap to work on an ipad

Anybody found an APP that works on an ipad

I've tried a few from the App store with no luck

Thanks in advance

Are you using a usb type borescope? They will work with an android device, but apple are very limited in the devices they support as external accessories, the ipad could technically do it hardware wise, but apple don't provide the api's needed that would enable an app developer to make a compatible app.

If you have a wifi connected borescope, there may be an app in the app store that will allow you to connect, something like this:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wifi-smart-endoscope/id1569752620
You will need to connect your wifi to the borescope wireless access point before opening the app.

Even this is not properly supported by apple, but the app developers have worked around this - but it may mean only some devices are compatible with the available apps.

Hi Dave

Thanks for your comments

Its a USB type I'm afraid

It works a treat in Windows 7 or 10 but I've tried half a dozen Apps for the ipad and nothing works (Its connects to the ipad physically and then nowt)

I just thought an ipad would be easier to use around cars, but I guess I'll be sticking with the laptop for now

Thanks

Lack of connectivity was the reason I ditched my iPad crap and bought a Win 10 tablet with detachable keyboard

I assume that your phone is Apple too? If not, then they will work with an Android phone and many have big enough screens these days.

Yes I'm afraid we're Apple users here apart from the laptops

Don’t be afraid to own up to Apple ownership, I get pi55ed about people saying “Apple crap” when they are very capable devices you just have to be aware of what the limitations are.
You can run boot camp on the laptops but I found that a cheap windows laptop would do the very few things that Apple OS didnt.
