What to build
Ok, thing is the cobra that i was going to build is going to be too costly so something else will have to do untill i win the lottery.
Answers below for suggestions!

MNR VortX, of course. Your best bet is to go to a kit car show and see a number of different cars. See who you get on with as well as which cars
look the best.
A certain nameless manufacturer all but said that he didn't want me to fit a bike engine to his cars and that he wouldn't offer any help
to me in doing so. I didn't buy on of his cars. MNR, on the other hand, couldn't be more helpful.
Qustions to ask:
do you want a cheap engine or a good car engine or a bike engine?
do you want a sierra based car (IRS) or an escort based car (live axle)
do you want a windscreen or not?
can you weld or do you want a kit.

interesting feature in "kit car" magazine on building a locost plane. worth a shot?
granted will be more than the cobra but think of the fun. £20 tho i believe was the bottom line; not bad for never having to wait at the lights again,
not sure what scope for "mile high action" is like though, hasnt even got a back seat!

Smart 51: As Ned has pointed out i have built an Indy already which was fun to build.
Ned: About the price of a cup of tea!! I cancelled the order on the parts as i won't need Granads stuff...probably.
The Phoenix does look good and is afordable, may have to look a bit closer at that one. I also like the Toniq-r but it's bike engine only
Another MK Indy is not out of the question, neither is the Luego Viento (V8). Whatever i build i want to take my time and do a good job. If i can get
anywhere near the quality of Zetec's car i'll be happy.

donut,
why not look out for a good rolling chassis striker/stuart taylor or something, there was one recently for about £2500 which i thought sounded good,
just add your choice of engine!
Ned.

Peer Pressure.......
Why dont you stop tormenting yourself , you know full well that your MX5 is a great sports car, even Clarkson thought it was the best
'British' sports car.
Just ignore the 'p***' takes , and drive the thing and enjoy it!!!
Failing that i'd look out for something thats on the road and needs a bit of tidying/donuting.
i.e. Locost , Sylva Striker, Fury, Westfield....

Yes Dave...whatever you say sir!!
I will be keeping the 5 for a good few months or as long as this supposed heatwave is due to last! I just want to make my mind up soonish so i can get
the donor parts and anything else i need like tools etc.......although i have got most from the last time! I still have loads of nut's, bolts,
rivets etc! That should save me a few quid
Lets just hope i still have the skills

Hi Bob, yes the Mrs has done a fine job on me (ooooh er!). This is it now..no turning back
Donor parts have been orderd and the price is inclusive of VAT. From what i have looked at the price of buying a car to dismantle and buying the parts
is not hugelydifferent and worth it for not having to deal with the donor car.
Lazy bugger ain't i
Zetec xorst is in the post
