Rolling road 2.0l zetec avon
Hi,
Just as I had been expecting I have less power than I thought . It made 123 BHP ATW at 6000rpm. The rolling road operator thought this would be
about 145bhp ish ATF. I was expecting closer to 160-165 ATF.
Setup
2.0l Zetec avon
Weber alpha kit
Lightened flywheel
Tiger exhaust
I had my first track night at knockhill last night which was superb, however having the same acceleration as a porsche boxster is sh!t, well faster on
the twisty stuff though . My starter motor packed in at the end of the night too. It was making noises but not turning the engine over
More power is the order of the day until I can fit that R1 engine in the winter.

when we had ours on the rolling road we got 149bhp @ the flywheel which was less than we were expecting.The main thing we got from the rolling road
was the carbs got set up properly so it no longer coughs and splutters.Still think the acceleration is quite good on ours.The bloke said if we added
more bhp we would not have such a smooth curve and lower revs would not be so good.

My 2.0 litre Zetec on an Emerald system with twin 45 DCOE's , CVH flywheel, Fisher exhaust manifold and unknown cams made 170 bhp at the wheels
recently - I don't believe it!
I will be going to another operator next time!

My 2.0L Zetec on 45 webers made 162 (117 ATW) on Geoff Bloor's rollers the other month

Your transmission losses seem way too high
162 (117 ATW) =38.4%
that would give me 123bhp ATW = 170 ATF.
How was your flywheel figure calculated out of interest?
Edited to add:
Just noticed mac1ZR
149 ATF, 108 ATW = 38%
These seem very high but maybe they are?
Does anyone know what the typical transmission losses for a sierra are?
I would have thought no more than 20% if they are about 38% I guess I am happy the engine is healthy and performing well. Its just a shame so much
power is lost in transmission. Its like a TAX.

I've just come off the phone to Tiger, he thinks I'm a tooth out on my timing, which would be nice, although embarrassing. Paul said
that all there cars regularly hit 145-150 ATW, 170 ATF. He said that the car will run fine but just wont go like it should. Hopefully its out, I
will have a look tomorrow. Unfortunatly I'm being dragged along to this Live 8 concert so I cant do it tonight, I was looking forward to it
until I found out this, I'm desperate to know if I've fooked up

We discussed this at the time (can't remember the thread). It probably came down to low tyre pressures and two contact patches on the rollers.
Same rolling road as Mac1ZR.
ps Geoff sorted the dip in the curve out afterwards by remapping the ignition.
