Radiator fitting

Hello all, I'm fitting a polo rad and finding that with the unit centered and at the specified height the bottom hose connection is directly in line with the down tube at the very front of the chassis. It will be very hard to fit the hose.
I've tried the search option, but with no luck.
Anyone got any advice please?
Cheers, John.

John

I had a similar problem which was resolved by angling the radiator out at the bottom enough to get a 90 degree bend in.

If you need a photo, U2U me and I'll try and get something taken for you.

Regards

Wyn

It'sd the same with the Micra Rad John. Spacing it away slightly at the bottom or parallel gives enough room in which to fit a 32mm rubber pipe. It's a tight fit but it does do it!

Thanks lads. did you angle the rad so the connection was inside or outside the tube? Any nose cone fitting problems?

I brought the pipe inside the tube using a 90 degree bend in 32mm Samco - tight but not touching anywhere - I have a big nose (no jokes please) but have no problems.

Let me know i you want some photos - I've just found my camera!

Ive had same challenge with Micra rad into a Mac1. My solution is to mount the rad a little higher. Bottom hose will run just above the steering rack. Top hose is well clear of the upper chassis tube. Rad is offset slightly to the ofside to give clearance for the filler neck and overflow outlet.

Just sourced full set of Samco's with ali connectors - Very very nice.
