"baby" zetec/cvh

Hi,

i read somewhere the Zetec from Fiesta is very different from the "normal".
Anybody knows if can be fitted (without too many troubles..) ?

A FORD ESCORT 1.8 16v with the engine code "RDA" it's a CVH? Or what else?

It won't be a CVH for two reasons

1. There is no such thing as a 16v CVH
2. The only 1.8 CVH was fitted to the Sierra and soon discontinued

The only issue with using a Zetec is the age. You need to get a very early one to avoid having to have a cat.

Zetec

im pretty sure that there are 2 types of Zetec engine. the Zetec E and the Zetec S. It seems that the 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 are the 'E' engine and the 1.25, 1.4 and 1.7 are the 'S' engine. it seems to me that the engines from the Fiesta and Puma are different from those from the Escort, Focus, Mondeo

not sure if thats all true but hope it helps

James

I thought Yam have some input in all the S ones. Certainly the 1.7 has VVT on it and I assumed all the S's had? The 1.7 in my mates Puma goes (and revs) like stink. I keep telling him to do a Cossie conversion so I can have his engine!
