Video problems.

You are a knowledgable lot out there so may be able to help.

My Video will not play any tapes.

It receives the cassette OK and then, regardless of which button is pressed on either remote or unit, loads the tape and then ‘plays/spools’ for about 3 seconds and then stops and shows ‘err’ on display.
Handbook is of no use.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks
Danny

Reel sensor fault. CPU doesn't know reels are moving, so shuts off.
They are usually optical, reflecting light off a shiny, then dark surface. It could also be the reel itself, they sometimes come apart. The take up clutch is usually to blame.
Bin it and but a new one!! They're so cheap.
