Would the JC40 be suitable for a ZX12R as well?

Cheers,

Pat...

The JC40 is the very same filter we used on our ZX12, sir!

It's the same for the ZX9. A blank baseplate is sold seperately for fitment. You can drill it for mounting to the throttle bodies and cut out the holes for the intake trumpets.

You want them, you know who to ask...

*ahem*

Tad - if I get a few folk interested, are we looking at a minor Locost/Group Buy discount?

All Locostbuilders members already receive a discount (up to 15% where possible), but I should be able to sort something out provided I get enough orders.

Cool.

I don't mind collecting all the money (again) and giving you one large order if that's ok with everyone - should be easier this way.

Steve - what's the maximum price a filter and blank base plate would be before any discount?

I'll definately have one, probably Carl as well, and Joel and Gav - that's 4 generated already just because of my post ;-)

Cheers,

Pat...

I need a minimum of 5 orders to provide the 15% maximum discount off the normal RRP prices. I've just U2U'd Gav with some prices - perhaps he can post the RRP's on here as I don't think I'm allowed to...

Just for info the JC40 filter is ideal for BEC's and will cover virtually all bike engines (except V's), from 'Blade/R1 to ZX12/Busa.

The only real difference is the height of the filter. You need to ensure that there is at least a 25mm gap from the trumpet opening to the inside of the filter foam, otherwise it won't work efficiently.

The JC40 can be had in 25, 40, 65, and 100mm heights (all the same price). What you need to do is measure from the mounting point of the base plate (i.e. the throttle body/carb opening where the trumpet fits in) to the trumpet opening, then add 25mm to this to ensure you have enough of a gap.

E.G.

Throttle body opening to trumpet opening = 30mm. +25mm = 55mm.

So you need to order a JC40/65 giving a 35mm clearance to the trumpet opening.

A JC40/40 would only give 15mm.

Pay attention at the back!

Right - I guess I'll take control and try and sort this.

Without making any profit, but trying to simplify the order, prices as follows:

Normal filter with blank baseplate - £77 delivered.

Sausage filter with blank baseplate - £92 delivered.

If everyone who's interested can post which filter they want on here, I'll do the rest.

How does that sound?

Pat...

I'll start the ball rolling.

My base to trumpet lip is 30mm on my '97 blade.

So I'll need a 65mm thick filter.

That's a JC40/65 sausage filter and blank plate.

£92.00.

Thanks.

Pat...

Both same footprint.

Sausage has rounded profiled corners where the normal filter has "vertical" sides and right angle corners around the top.

Gav - you having the same as me?
