Anyone want an axle or diff rebuilding ?

This bloke (below) has just rebuilt a 7" sierra LSD with a 4.41 crown and pinion for me. It's now in the car and I'm very happy with the results. He works by himself out of a small unit in Leicester and only does axles and diffs. I promised him I'd mention his details on this forum (he doesn't have a computer or know how to use one).

He often doesn't answer the phone so leave a message and he'll get back to you.

he'll also try to find you an axle or diff to your spec. He was recommended to me by the mechanic at our local garage. People like this are getting thin on the ground now.

How much did/does he charge for a diff rebuild and did he source the crown and pinion?

Yes he supplied the crown and pinion (items he had on his shelf left over from another job). He charged £160 rebuild the diff I gave him (with the new crown and pinion). This included all new bearings, seals and his labour. He said it had taken him over four hours to get the diff apart due to the rear cover bolts etc being seized.

Like I said he works by himself so may not be the fastest supplier. But he is a great bloke and does a good job.

ps I paid him £180 for the crown and pinion, which I thought was a fair price.
