Handbrake cable at drum end.

This is one of these ''very difficult questions 'till you know the answer, then it's a really easy question'' questions! (If you know what I mean)

Can anyone tell me how they have secured the drum end of the Allegro handbrake cable as used with an English axle? I'm talking about the metal block with the threaded boss attached that is obviously intended to stabilise the outboard end of the cable outer. Is it just a case of welding on a suitable bracket or is there a easy, standard solution I'm just not aware of?
