Caged Robot

Just been sent this by OiOi,

the robot that Caged use to weld Caterham / Stuart Taylor et al chassis and cages.

Does it tack first then fully weld?

Wow!

Amazed it's worth it but very interesting to see.

AlanB designs/builds robots that do things like this. Maybe he could knock one up for Robin Hood!

Also quite interesting to see some close ups of a catering van chassis. Amazed at some of the things they add/don't add in.

Absolutely....right up my street.
They don't usually tack first as they are usually fully jigged...if anything there may be some finishing needed after the robot.

Also notice the trunnion at the end of the fixture...it almost certainly turns over to weld underneath....at least for some jobs...
