Barkston Heath
Well just done my first track day at barkston Heath. It will be my last track day at Barkston Heath. The main track is only 0.8 miles long and is very
narrow. If you come off chances are you will hit something (hard). Only managed to get into 3rd gear all of the way round. In my opinion, very
dangerous!!
A lad took my freind around in a elise and stuffed it into a tyre wall, smashed all of the front. Then a Honda s2000 did the same and totaled the
front, he needed the ambulance. A real dangerous track, I wont do that one again!

totaly agree, and me and chris went round on a day when a Mk 2 escort dumped a sump full of oil on he track and then it started to pi55 down.
We had both left the venue @ 12:00
I would never do Barkston again.
I dont mind the danger (Cadwell) but there is no reward driving that track. the only good thing about it is that it is good smooth tarmac!!!!!!!!!!!

Any of you guys got any pics/video from Barkston Heath. A mate of mine has offered a local kids charity passenger rides to auction off in 3 rally
cars and my Indy and has arranged with Colin @ Javelin to do them at Barkston Heath on 5th August. After reading your posts I'm beginning to
wonder if the venue is such a good idea. It will be my first trackday and would like to be able to 'give it a bit' and a little concerned
at the shortness and narrowness of the track.

OK, Just hold on a minute here lads. Lets get a grasp on reality. I am not arguing that you do not have a right to your opinions. Far from it
feedback to organisers only helps to improve the product. However, there are some serious misconceptions within this thread which do need answering.
It is also worth noting that if it were not for someone in the know being aware of the inaccuracies and e mailing the thread to me we would not have
been aware.
For example.
A) In the event of any impact (no matter how small) we will have car occupants checked by the medics. The writer of this comment does state that it
was their first ever trackday and can be forgiven for assuming that because we rolled the Ambulance the incident was far more serious than it actually
was .and reporting same. However the forum comment gives a misleading impression. We make no apology whatsoever to appear to overreact to such
situations.
B) Anyone who believes that we would run cars at speed past a building full of fuel is seriously misguided. Alternatively dare I suggest they did not
pay attention to the “Safety” briefing which clearly explains were the fuel is stored and that we do not want pedestrians in that area.
C) To describe a couple of crunched wings and tyre scuffs as “totalled” front ends is a little OTT. I can e mail pics to any interested party. We
never like to see any damaged bodywork but it is a consequence of trackdays if you push too hard.
D) It may come as a surprise to some to some but the reliability of clients cars and the weather is something beyond the organisers control.
Barkston Sprint Course needs to be driven accurately and precisely. Agreed that in places there is little room for error. That does not automatically
make it dangerous.
I do not read anyone describing the Hairpin at Cadwell as dangerous and it is approached at far greater speed. I see no references being made to the
other track that is available at Barkston and its use is included within the price. Loads of run off, not tarmac admitted but used and enjoyed by many
7 drivers who usually come up to us at the end and surprisingly find themselves commenting on how much they enjoyed their day despite initial
misgivings.
