Locking fuel cap?
I've been told that you need a locking fuel cap for the SVA, or the cap needs to be inside a lockable compartment.
Is this correct?

I was also of that belief
Sparco do a really nice one for about £70.00
or ThinkAuto do one as well for the same money.
Lockable is best tho - you don't want people sticking 'sugar' in it ;-)

Not Certain for the SVA but its pretty sure its required for the MOT as the push on "Emergency fuel caps" Fail.
Although there is an "emergency" version with a small plasic dial that you turn in the centre that spreads the cap out to fit more secure
that are MOT approved.
Saying that lol, ours passed its MOT with an "emergency" type on 2day lol

The wording is secure which should mean fixed properly (like the secure fuel lines) but looks like it can be interpreted as locked by some testers.
Best get a locking one anyway just to avoid idiots and thieves.

I, like many others, fancy the new MK Engineering aluminium ones, they are secure (they're fitted with a O ring) but they don't lock.
Does anyone have a definitive answer?

It doesnt need to lock for mot as long as it seals and is secure (well my omega past and thats got the flap missing)

Mitcham SVA Michael told me that the cap does NOT have to lock. It only has to be secure. In otherwords it must fit properly!

Thanks Chaps, had it confirmed today.
A LOCKING PETROL CAP IS NOT REQUIRED.
