Nose Cone
Mk 1 nose top didn't go too well, so today was the turn of Mk 2.
I know the pointy front won't be to every ones liking but at least it will be different.
Tomorrow, the sides.

Coming on well Paul. It looks like you have the use of a wheeling machine. Have you decided to TIG weld all of it?

Hi John,
Yes, I've made a wheel ( see photo archive, "wheel file" ) but I have nothing to do shrinking on,
so my design won't be quite how I would like it, and yes, given up on the O/A, Tig weld is the way I'm going.
Better get cracking on those sides.

Paul, I take my hat off to you. You have made such a professional job of your wheeling machine I am so impressed.
I'm sure gas welding is well within your grasp. I actually find TIG more difficult than gas because I've got a shakey hand whereas with
gas moving the torch is all part of the process.

Thanks for the encouragement chaps.
I've got the sides part done today. I'll roll the front edges round tomorrow.
Not looking forward to filling in those corners.

an estimated time of arrival if Sat is still ok? Keep up the good work.

I'm thinking of putting a vertical crease in the bottom front, to match the top edge...
but would a number plate with a bend in it be an issue with the powers that be?

I always thought that a number plate had to be vertical and flat but i can find nothing to confirm that in

I wondered how Jaguar got away with a number plate on the bonnet but I think manufacturers are above the law particularly with space saver wheels.
Anyway, Paul, I reckon you may be okay because it will still be vertical and easy to read.

I've had a U2U and two phone calls today, all three from people I hold in high esteem.
Comments varied from ultra polite to fairly polite, so I think a day off and a rethink is in order.
I think I'll go and buy some ply. I feel a Mk3 coming on.

Actually, with the corners filled in nicely and the bottom cut off, it'll be very much like the Toniq-R nose.
