Bike fuel pump for twin 45 Webbers??
Would it be possible to use a bike fuel pump to fuel twin 45 webbers on an xe engine, using a fuel regulator ? , instead of the more widely used Facet
type pumps??,
anybody tried it???
- have got one off a GSXR 600 and was thinking of fitting it, when I change my pinto engine to xe later this year.(pinto has mechanical fuelpump at
the min)

Was the GSXR on carbs or fuel injection?
A fuel injection pump is designed to run continuously, so the regulator has a return back to the fuel tank.
A fuel pump for carbs is often designed to have no return and simply stops when enough pressure has built up. Using a regulator with no return on an
injection pump wouldn't be a good idea, assuming the regulator can take the inlet pressure, you would be forcing the pump to use it's
internal safety valve all the time.

Should have said -
bike fuel pump was off a carbed GSXR ,not throttle bodies.seems possible to do?

You shouldn't need a regulator with a carb type bike pump, they run a low pressure and as said by Mike they cut off when the float needles
close. They only run something like 5psi unlike the injection at more like 45psi.

Would it not be a problem having the pump alot further away form the carbs? Dont know about bike pumps, but just wondering if the bike pump shuts off
when the pressure reaches over 5psi if its having to push alot more fuel then it might shut off early.
But i could be completely wrong!
