Sticky foam tape

I'm trying to source some black "Nitrile like" foam about 50mm wide by 5mm thick to stick on top of the body sides and nosecone as an insulator between these and an aluminium bonnet.

Has anybody got any ideas of where I could get something like this?

I found something similar in B&Q - 50mm black sponge tape which I used as fuel tank strap padding.

Sticky Foam Tape

B&Q? That well known Locost supplier; never thought of them!

Was it fairly dense or like Aero?

Closed cell but I would class it as medium density - worked for my fuel tanks though.

If you have any scuba-dive supply shops in your area, they use very nice closed-cell neoprene for wet suits, and often have strips of scrap...

I used some Armaflex tape i found at work. It is used for lagging refrigeration pipes etc and is closed cell neoprene. If you have a local industrial refrigeration company it may be worth trying them. They also use it in sheet form about 20mm thick , this is ideal for padding seats etc.

Sticky Foam Stuff

Thanks all, plenty of choice there for me to go for. Woolies is an unusual one, will most certainly investigate that one. Coming from the Black Country we are about as far away from the coast as it is possible to be in this country, and our waterways only come up to your waist, so Scuba Diving shops are a bit thin on the ground - but like the thinking, that type of material would be ideal. Might make a bid for Steve Irwins wet suit on Ebay, only one hole in it and shouldn't be a problem.
