I understand they are, as is the back axle which should be a MK2 Escort item.

The trouble with Stellar uprights is getting them!
When I tried to buy a pair of new ones from Hyundai, they wouldn't part with them unless I could provide the chassis number of the car.

Weird!

Wonder if that's some licensing thing with Ford?

Coozer, are you saying it has a Mk2 Escort back axle? Or a Cortina one? They're not the same! Cortina is 4" wider.

HTH,
James

There must be different versions of the Stellar, the one I looked at in the scrappers had McPherson struts up front....

I've read somewhere else the stellar was built using Cortina front uprights and a Escort axle in the back.

May be complete nutsack because I tried to find one for myself and they all seem to have disappeared from round here!!

The Cortina based Stellar was only made for a couple of years, 84 to 86 I think. They all went over to MacPherson struts after that.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
