Going up to the loft to get out my iron maiden records. Oh and a turntable. For the younger ones amongst us ask an older person about vinyl records and turntables. Last saw iron maiden in 1986 Think thats about 5 years ago

i think i have a couple of maiden vinyls in a drawer in the garage, shame i dont have owt to play them on! I bet they're ruined by the elements now.

I believe i last saw them live in circa 98, when it was blaze bailey singing. Devastated, as they are surely my favourite band of all time.

Metal and classical music are remarkably similar really.

Sounds a damn good excuse to play my maiden CD's (none of this old tech for me )

Saw them again earlier this year in london, great show as usual. Took SWMBO along again, and she loved the show which is impressive considering she isnt a very big metal fan.

Dont know if any of you are aware but good old' Bruce has got a radio slot on Radio 6 on a Sat.... but you can listen to the previous weekends show for all of the next week via the BBC site. Always good for a laugh as Bruce is as mad as a hatter.

EDIT: Link to Bruce Dickensons BBC 6 Music Page

lol, come on you have to respect them as some of the godfathers of modern metal, ive never really been able to work out why Black Sabbath often get all the credit.

I have (or had....) all of their albums up to Seventh Son, then it became a bit too prog rock for me.....

On the way home from work tonight I was steaming down one of the best roads in the world to 22 Acacia Avenue (their best song, end of discussion! )

But, just to please Benzine I have been rocking out to Among the Living by Anthrax for the last two weeks! If I have cut you up on the M1 because of it I do apologise!

Ooooh, Therapy!

Saw then at Newcastle Uni in '94. The best gig I've ever been to...... (and I've been to a lot!)

i used to listen to them back in the day, forgot all about them til a mate mentioned the gig. The songs are just as good as i remembered, mental live

As for 22 accacia avenue, my pal used to live at 22 the avenue which matched the chorus!

Ahh ok... what would you like?

Norther, Bodom, Amon Amarth, In Flames, God Forbid, Dark Tranquility?

But most people on here have heard of Maiden and probably quite like some of their stuff, but I bet most have never heard of those ^^^ however great they are!!

Sabbath still have one of the heaviest sounds around, and really spawned the whole heavy metal scence. Mainden re-lit the metal spark in the early eighties and are the biggest NWOBHM band around.

I still buy vinyls, and reckon they sound better than CD's

Never been much into metal.
Though Nine inch Nails won Grammy's for best metal performance in 93 for Wish and 96 for Happiness in Slavery, so it can't be all bad

I'd just like to say I don't drive while listening to 'Wish', I like having a license and being alive
