Spring Rates for Locost BEC
Hi
Can anyone give me the benefit of their wisdom on the correct spring rates to use for a Locost with a Bike Engine, as im assuming they need to be
different to compensate for the lighter engine.
Also im trying to find a spring supplier called Yorkshire Springs, who im told are very reasonable. I cant find their contact details, so if anyone
has their details i would be most grateful.
Thanks

Im running 220lbs at the front and 180 lbs at the back.

I've got 150 front, 125 rear.
yes I was going for as softly sprung as I could get away with.
It seems to be OK now (took some adjusting to get right)

Does the weight of the driver have any bearing on the poundage i choose. Im not a lightweight and dont want the car hanging down at the back, nor do i
want it to be so stiff so the back skids around?

What type of ride does this setup give you?
Thanks

yay, for once two fairly good spring rate recommendations!
Anywhere between those two recommendations will be fine for road use, probably 200lb fronts and 150 lb rears would be a good starting point, although
I am only using 140lb rears on a vauxhall xe engined car, the rears are heavily dictated by driver plus passenger weights. If you want to drive with 2
15 stone people in it then you'll need 150lb at least on the back I think

Sorry to labour the point.
I just checked the GTS Tuning Website as i know they sell Protech shocks for their kit and thats what i have, and they recommend using 275 front 175
Rear.
Can anyone tell me how the pound rates work.
Im assuming that 275/175 will give a harder ride than 220/150 for example.
