Reapplying engine number to x-flow
Have got an xflow that requires an engine number restamping. I know where it goes as standard, but am a little jittery about smacking a cast block
with a number-letter stamp/punch.
Has anyone done this, or is there an alternative?

My goldseal (aka Leyland recon) mini engine has a plate with the number rivited to the block.

They stamp them on in production. As long as you dont whack it too hard I dont see why you should break anything.
Just bear in mind, there are some legal implications of fiddling with engine numbers, but I dont know the in's and out's.

I would just clean up the old numbers the best you can with sand paper.
I you restamp it you will not have the same size numbers and letters and it would then look a bit like a ringer?
