Battery help
I am running a 1.6 cross flow Westfield reg 1989 and need a new battery the problem is I don’t know what the original is from as I didn’t build the
car and neither did the guy
I bought the car from I don’t really want to make a new battery tray
The number on the is 177454 but I think this is just an old shop reference
Then the actual battery label says Type 045
Capacity 30Ahr
Cranking amps 230
Any Ideas?

tape measure, then a trip to the local motor factors would be my advice.

Whatever fits mate, its not like you'll be running heated screen, heater, stereo etc. so I reckon, there should be no problem

Then do what Graeme says... a type 069 is a popular Ford Fitting.

Yep - measure up to get the same size case, make sure that you have the same connectors (round-post or Ford bolt-on), and that the connectors are in
the same position as the original.
Personally, I'd take the old battery to a local motor factors, or Halfords, and ask for a direct replacement. Let them worry about it!

Or you could save a bit of space / weight by changing to a gel battery like the Odyssey range of Red Top

A trip to halfrauds with the battery is the best bet. Type 045 is the model but i think its an ancient battery.

Update
the Battery is from a Robin as in Trotters independent traders so yes it is old and has been discontinued so time to get the aluminium out and make a
new battery tray and take my pick of what battery to use

You can still buy Robin batteries - if you want to go that route.
