MOPED !!??!!
Ooooo you must have been poorly Ben.....

That is an early Lambretta
IIRC an 'LD' model...... as in 'Scooter', a la 1960's era

Did you ever see the film Quadrophenia? plenty of them in that!
For those too young to have actually 'been there' of course!

Fozzie

ps hope you are better now...

From wiki: "Mopeds are a class of low-powered motorized vehicles, generally two-wheeled"

Sounds about right to me

After falling off a 2 wheeled vehicle at high speed and leaving half my right arm somewhere in Thailand my attentions are mostly 3-4 wheeled!!!!!!

I'm alright now Just hoping for some nice weather tommorow for blatting (finally got clearance to leave the house from SWMBO).... I drove to the supermarket today but a 1.0L Micra with a slipping clutch, knackered anti-roll bar bearings and dead temperature sensor really doesn't cut the mustard compared to the LocoPan!!!

Ben...... wiki says mopeds are low powered...usually 50cc

Lambretta scooters were typically between 125cc and 200cc ........ the LD IIRC was 125cc, so not technically a moped.....
(In case you haven't guessed.....I am very clucky about Lambies)

We need some decent weather to get rid of all these 'lurgies'

Colin..... yes it was the battery......unlike, most things that need charging.... you have to turn the navigator 6000 unit ON for it to take a charge...
Now got the ciggie lighter fitted to the fozzmobile ...... so it wont happen again....

Thank you for your kind comments about the Fozzmobile .....

Fozzie

Hi Colin,

Good set of photos ... looked as though you also had some decent weather for the show.

Do you think you will be at Donnington again ... hope to have the Tiger finished by then. Could be it's maiden voyage ...

cheers
Jim (and Alan)

Mopeds had pedals did't they? As in 'pedal and pop' as we used to call them. I had a Vespa T5 a few years back in red and white/cream a nice little thing, could be temperamental though. Some nice photos there Pinto. Don't think much of the Honda and Chrysler though, prefer the others.

Yes...the old mopeds did have pedals.... you are right!

Honda 50 ..... and other strange 'step-throughs' .....

A few of our mates had Vespas..... they soon got Lambies .... ....as you say, Vespas kept breaking down ......

I had an LD150 many years ago.

That is a later model, probably Li150 or TV175. LD headlamps were on the front lower down not on the handlebars. That one was featured in a magazine article earlier this year, one of our neighbours who has 3 Vespas showed me the cover.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Ooooo yes you are right Pete!

My first Lambi was also an LD and its headlight WAS lower, went on to an LI and you are correct......the headlight WAS higher...ie 'on' handle bars!

I have been racking my brains...do you remember what cc the SX was?.......I can't think for the life of me!!!!!!
