Your petition reads:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Ask her
majesty to consider awarding of a knighthood to Ron Dennis CBE
of the Mclaren F1 team
Since the early 1980s Dennis has been the principal of the
McLaren Formula One team attending races and supervising the
teams operations and strategy from the pit wall.
A self made man Ron Dennis started out as an apprentice
mechanic with Cooper Cars. He susquently went on work form the
Brabham F1 Team where he was Sir Jack Brabham. Subsequently
founding and running several highly successful teams Ron
Dennis's MP4 team merged with the McLaren team after which
McLaren became one of the most successful teams in the histrory
of motorsport.
Ron Dennis has contributed much to international motorsport,
greatly adding to the UK's reputation on the international
stage. Through the expansion of Mclaren team's operations he
has created employment in high technology jobs in the UK.

A few crocodile tears and everyone thinks Ron is a hero. For all we know, if Alonso hadn't threatened Ron with releasing the fact that McLaren
were cheating, in exchange for being given number one status, he might never have informed the F.I.A. about the documents in the first place meaning
that McLaren could still be decieving us all now. We could have all been none the wiser.

Ron Dennis has certainly contributed much to international motorsport but I personally don't think he deserves a knighthood.

Neither do most of the people who get knighted then. I'm sure we could name plenty if we wanted to who havent done anywhere near as much for
this country.

Now I wonder why he would wan't two knighthoods?, and why change his name, Jack sounds better than Ron. Ray

I do have to wonder - why make someone a night, who although is a very good business person - in the real world has done nothing but what is best for
his own business. Why not a partition for David Beckham anther pointless one, but he dose run a football academy for children so may be a little
better. Personally i don’t think any of the modern F1 fraternity deserves it. They need to have at least done something selfless, or a contribution to
society, and not just self gain or their own businesses self gain. As Ron Denis has said on many occasions ‘F1 is a sport every other Sunday
afternoon, the rest is just big business’
So no, I won’t sign it, but would like to see a partition for someone who dose deserve it.

If fact having thought about it more – it really winds me up. So why should a business man, who does very well in an small arena, where they all cheat
to get any advantage over each over, to go round in small circles be knight at all?
And before I get shot down as being a motor sport hater – have been a stanch F1 supporter for the last 30 years and go to the GP’s I can get to.

Well to look at the bigger picture - the UK motorsport industry is the biggest in the world and brings thousands of jobs and millions (if not indeed
billions) of pounds to the UK economy. Probably fair to say McClaren (as well as the likes of Prodrive, Lola, Lotus etc etc) have done huge amounts to
enhance the UK motorsport industry's reputation.
As for doing something selfless - well Ron Dennis (secretly???) supported Lewis Hamilton for many years. Wonder how many other young drivers
he's been there to help. Maybe you could say its for his own self interest (in that he's developed a driver for his own team) but happen
to think myself that there's probably a crop of youngsters that have benefitted from him in return.
David Beckham football academy - how much time does he actually spend there then - especially the one in London?? Predominantly name only i recon and
for all the personal money he may put into it i recon he gets more out in enhanced image
