Sony P900 Unlocking

I've got a virtually unused Sony P900 phone which is locked to T Mobile. (It was my old company 'phone).

I'd like to put a pay as you go SIM card in so it can be used in emergencies but need to get in unlocked.

Is this something I can do on-line or must I pay a 'phone shop to do it?

Before anyone else says it I know I'm being tight!!!

John.

I'm going to Aus for several months and changing from contract to pay as you for the same reasons. O2 have sent me a PUK code, this will let me use my phone with O2 pay as you go sim. Maybe go into TMobile shop and they will give you a PUK code? I have found on some phones you don't even need to unlock them at all.

You will find a market trader will do it for 20 quid.

Do a search on the net. I did find some free programs once to unlock phones. Cant remember the sites but i just googled "unlocking sony ericcson p900"

My phone was different but you get the idea.

There also these little unlock gizmo's on ebay etc that you plug in to the bottom of your phone and they do it.

Thats a thought. If its ex contract it might just be branded not locked. Have you tried another sim in it? None of my sony contract phones have been locked.

Tried my O2 sim bit it doesn't work so I'm assumimg it's locked.

Did try a Google search and found www.unlockcentral.co.uk/ who apparently charge just £2.79. It's payable via Pay Pal so presumably they're OK.

They only list SONY* CMD-C1 CMD-CD5 as being unlockable on their site. I have tried this type of unlocking before and it hasn't worked for me. Usually you need to visit one of the market traders who will plug it into a laptop and unlock it that way.

Cheers

Thanks, I hadn't checked which types they could unlock. I've sent then an e-mail query asking the question.

Take into to an EE/Orange/T-mobile shop they will have a PAYG sim that will work.
The phone is locked to the network not the account.

Hai, I suggest, Easy way to unlock your phone you can using unlock codes. If you need an unlock code for your Sony P900 mobile you can visit this site http://www.unlocking4u.com/sony-ericsson-p900/rs6wp9/ . Here they will ask your mobile model, imei, network and country. Then they will send the code to your mail shortly.
