Flexi Time

What a great thing that is.

We have a 4 week accounting period and you are allowed a maximum of 14 hours to be carried forward into the next one or you lose it.
As of last night I had marginally over 21 hours so I'm having a free holiday today

Suppose that's why I'll never be a boss - overheard one of them saying he'll lose 47 hours today and he still comes in.
Go for it, that's what I say

I thought we were good.

32 annual
9 flexis max. I usually don't use them all.
Stautory holidays - can't remember how many. Must be about 8-10
Sick pay - 6 months full pay. 6 months half pay.
That really is ripping it though

I get saleried pay, which means I have to work a minimum of 42 hours a week.

This week I will have worked 57 hours and dont get to claim anything back.

I wonder why my son doesn't recognise me...

That's just wrong.

No smilies appropriate here. That just isn't fair.

I do consider myself very fortunate.

Start a t 8.00am
30 mins lunch
Finish at 4.00pm

That actually gains me 30 mins every day over my contracted 7 daily hours.

I always tell anyone with kids not to work all hours and be away if they can help it, and miss them growing up. I did and regret it.

mind you when they are teenagers it's safer to be at work sometimes! my son's best mate scares me....

My boss is 160 miles away, all of the time, so I get to be as flexi as I like

The majority of my job is working on call, so it's a bit hard to make us do a set amount of hours. Some weeks we can be doing 12 hours a day, other weeks we can get some decent golfing done. There's often not a huge amount that needs doing urgently when there aren't any calls coming in, so we can pretty much choose when to make up for any long days we end up doing. Personally I try and avoid mornings like the plague

I've currently got almost 100hours of flexi banked up with no sign of being able to use any of it. However, I can cash it all in at the end of the year and get it paid instead of having the time. I can get overtime too but the first hour over on any day we have to book as flexi.

Weeks are incredibly short - don't have time to do half the things I would like - maybe it's the afternoon siesta
