Is it just me or are classics overpriced....

I'm (still) looking for a Volvo Amazon but mis-clicked and found the above.
4K for a mk1 fiesta. What is the world coming to.
Some-one please tell me I haven't lost the plot.
edited to say that I'm sure it is a lovely example, and I'm not having a go at the owner...

Classics at the moment are very popular. Prices for soft-tops have even stayed pretty constant going in Autumn and Winter whereas normally they dip
quite a bit.....
Still, you can get something like a nice Triumph 4a for 5k which isn't too shabby!!!
For some reason "classic" Ford motors are making loads of money.........

I've seen a few overpriced on that website, usually dealers saying one of a kind etc etc.
One was a MK1 Golf GTi for 9K you could get any other for 3K or less.
I understand cars with a proven history in racing or very limted number produced, but that is a mass produced car

Old Fords are getting more and more expensive. Look at Mk1 escorts!

Volvosport, yes, but they are all dear, or in need of lots of money spending. Every-one in the Volvo forums seems to know how much they are worth,
not what I want at all :-)

I've got an XR2 with CVH engine under wraps alongside my garage.
May have to give it another coat of looking at.
Edit: How long do you have to wait before that pile of old sh1te becomes a 'valuable classic'?

Overpriced classics
I am delighted at the value of some classics
The sale of my crusty 40 year old Triumph vitesse parts will pay for my entire build.
I had no idea the stuff was worth so much.
I must admit though. Modern classics, in particular Fords, do fetch silly money.

Not just Three spokes, but Cosworth ones!
Which I have to admit (and could easily be wrong) weren't ever fitted to a Cosworth!

Only if you're building your car for £250 I fear It only seems to be Ford bits that bring silly money - I picked up most of the front end of
a GT6 in good nick for well under a tenner on ebay a couple of weeks ago. The poor guy selling it had 90% of the rest of the car in his garage but he
said he couldn't be bothered listing the rest as all the bits he'd sold so far had only raised a couple of quid each

i like the fact that its listed as sports/convertible.
To me a lot of MK1 & MK2 escorts are valued too high, but if thats what the market is willing to pay thats the going rate.
Avengers & sunbeams are under valued though. Not that i have a few and a shed loads of parts.......

To my great surprise. The first sale of Triumph vitesse parts raised over £1,300.
The overdrive gearbox alone sold for over £300.
I am fortunate enough to have approx 3 entire cars in pieces.
