What a load of crap! I,m not sure but isn't 1 pint and 3 wines over the limit anyhow? If not they're pushing to the edge of it. If
I'm drunk then I know it, regardless of how it magically got in there. An unpopular man scrabbling not to fall further I think.

Sounds like a load of crap to me.
An alcoholic drink will never, ever, make you a better driver.

Derry told the officer he had drunk only one pint and three small glasses of wines, but when tested was nearly double the limit – the equivalent of
half a bottle of vodka.
WHat a load of toss. None of it's an exact science but that alone would put most people near double the limit. Half a botle of vodka would be
something like 15 units, putting you about 4 times over the limit.
Anyone who thinks they can have four drinks and then drive definitely deserves a ban!

Very dodgy - he is relieved to be able to 'clear his name' and then gets fined £1500! Since when did the legal system punish an innocent
man?
Ah .... yes ..... that's another can of worms

hold on lads - none of us know how quickly his body absorbs the alcohol or over what period. He could have had the pint at 5pm and the wine over the
next 7 hours till midnight .....
would he still be over the limit?
(although it does sound like a complete load of tosh)

It's time the law was changed to match other countries where they don't allow any alcohol at all.
The bloke has admitted to having 5 units anyway, wouldn't be surprised if he had more. Most of us wouldn't dream of getting in a car and
taking the controls after drinking that amount.
It is, as has been said before, a load of betty swollocks.

agreed. IMHO, a pint is the limit. 3 glasses of wine extra is taking the pisss. And im very annoyed that some stupid magistrate has set a precident
before the worst time of the year for drink driving. tw4t
