Tesla Electric Car

Is it me or does the new Tesla car in USA look a bit familair?

After all it is built by Lotus here and shipped the US of A.

Nice looking car with good performance for an electric one. Does any body think it will take off??

Looks rather nice. Should sell well to a niche market. Anyone sussed out how much they are. Im self confessed stingy but sending $5000 to get on the waiting list without a guide for 2009 prices being released sounds mad to me.

check out the power graph.

what so called high performancs gas engine only produces about 120lb ft torque...not a high performance one thats what.

I would guess that the "high performance 4 cylinder engine" producing the 120lb ft torque was the engine that used to sit in the Elise chassis that the Tesla uses. Namely the 1.8vvti jobby from Toyota.

Personally I would love one, if it weren't for the price tag and the shoddy fiberglass/paint-job I noticed on the model on moving display at FOS last year.

I fancy the electric version - 0-60 in 4 seconds with hardly a sound! You could creep up behind chavmobiles in stealth mode and shout BOO!

I like but just 'customized' my own car and the cost came to $102,950
Cant afford 50k for a car
