MX5

Has anyone used an MX5 as a donor and if so what parts did you take?

Me again....

Lot's of questions about the MX5 these days

I finished my car about 2 years ago. I used the engine, gearbox and propshaft plus all the engine management bits and the ECU.

I coupled that to a MkII Escort back axle and used Cortina front uprights. There are loads of pictures of the part built and finished car in my photo archive.

If you want to know anything particular just drop me a U2U or email and I'll sort it out for you.

Westfield can definitely help you out. It depends on how much you wish to take from the MX-5, but as far as I can tell the Mazda SDV chassis is the same one used on the SEi-W. They even have a clever mount to put the MX-5 differential onto the Sierra mounting points.

I used pretty much everything. Engine, transmission, wiring (well, some of it), diff, driveshafts, uprights, brake calipers, steering column, steering rack (modified), seats, instruments and wheels.
