Subaru Diff
I've been toying with using a differnet diff and wanted something that was strong and not too heavy. So,
here it is. It's about 23kg in weight, LSD and
came with shafts for £60!
The front mounts are easy to sort out - the rears may be a touch harder and will take some fiddling to clear the deDion if I go that route.
Any thoughts?

They are the same diff used in Datsun 1600's and I80b's a mate of mine is using one in his build here in OZ

Most of them are 4.11:1, though there are some 3.54:1s about. I've got a spare 4.11 with shafts in my garage if anybody needs one.

Looks a bit awkward to mount compared to the Sierra one. The super long nose will have to be bolted into the tunnel, which is going to need to be
substantially reinforced to take the torque reaction of the diff. As you mentioned a De-dion will be tricky if you need to use the rear mounts (and
you almost certainly do).

Can't wait to see how tiny the prop will have to be.

The ratios get a bit confusing, when I first saw the 3.54 figure I thought I had struck gold , perfect for BEC, with LSD, but on further investigation
I discovered that 3.54 is the overall final drive reduction, which includes the gearbox final drive step off reduction of 1.1 : 1 plus the diff ratio
of 3.9 : 1

Mounting in the tunnel will be dead easy. The rear mount will be a bit more tricky but I've got a few ideas!
I'll be sitting the gearbox back as far as possible (wide tunnel - hopefully as far as
this) so the prop will be ultra short!
