Roll Bar for a Tall Guy :-)

Hi Guys,

I am assuming that I will need a higher roll bar due to being 6' 4" tall. lol. Anyone know the correct height?

Also does it have to be bolted in or can I weld it straight to the chassis?

Cheers,

O

i am 6' 5" and sat in MK's, Westfield and Caterhams all of late. None of which seem to have a dramatically low roll bar that I noticed.

Can weld in or bolt (3 bolts to chassis) and back stays can be welded or rose jointed.

My mate has a standard Westfield Megabusa Roll bar for sale left over from his build.

Can find out how much he wants if need be!

Hi, i know the guys at MNR weld them but you see most westfields are bolt on so doesnt really matter which way you do it.
As for the height, MNR measured ours from the highest point at the front going upto the roll bar and made sure when we were sitting in the car there was 2 inches on top of our head for a helment then 3 inches for clearance which is required for race use if i remeber correctly

I had MK make me a custom one for my lanky self ( 6'4" ). My seat is not on runners it's bolted via 20mmish box section directly to the floor so as low as the seat can be. Can measure height of bar if you want, but you'll be best getting someone to measure up with you sat in your car with helmet on. should be high enough such that a straight line can be placed between the top of the rollbar and the front of the nose (technically the top-front of the structural chassis) with your head underneath.
